Oregon Timber Frame is a division of Barratt Developments. We specialise in the design, manufacture, supply and erection of structural timbers to all divisions across the group.
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will design, prepare and schedule timber frame construction drawings for various types of projects for our clients.
You will be responsible for:
* Working with Barratt design team, developing architectural designs into workable timber frame structures. Review drawings and information received from both clients and external consultants.
* Assisting with the production of timber frame construction drawings using AutoCAD. Experience with hsbcad and Elecosoft software is desirable but not necessary as training will be provided.
* Attend design, quality tracking, information and pre-start awareness meetings as required.
* Liaison with other departments and collation of all design information to enable our production department to manufacture timber frame buildings.
* Providing technical advice, problem solving and support to other Barratt divisions, their consultants and our Contract Management Team.
* Attend continued professional development courses as required.
* Guide and train lesser experienced members of the team.
* Attend ad hoc site/client visits.
* Maintain and exceed current levels of quality within the Company.
* Time management: Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Ability to communicate with departments to ensure a harmonious working environment.
* Teamworking: Team player with a proactive attitude.
* Communicate effectively: both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to work in a pressured environment.
Key Skills
* Appreciation and understanding of AutoCAD and ability to identify and communicate problem solving effectively.
* A good knowledge of architectural detailing, regulations and general house building methods.
* Experience of Elecosoft and hsbcad packages.
* Previous experience of timber frame construction methods.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Dedication to promote continuous improvements throughout the company.
* Strong inter-personal and coordinating abilities.
* Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel.
* Full clean driving license.
Qualification / Experience
* HNC in Architectural Technology with ideally 3 or more years of practical experience.
