A rapidly expanding Warrington-based charity is seeking three full-time Support Workers with a keen interest in either one of the areas of arts and crafts, gardening and horticulture, or bicycle repairs.
The post holders will have gained experience in these areas through work-related activities or personal interests and hobbies, and be able to impart their knowledge onto learners.
As the Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
* Sympathetically support learning disabled adults who have a variety of complex needs, ensuring safeguarding in all activities, following 'Dignity and Respect' policies.
* Working with the extended team to make learning enjoyable and meaningful, assess risks, and share relevant learner information.
* Responding professionally to learners, maintain daily records, and modelling good safeguarding practices to promote independence.
* Ensuring a person-centred approach, challenge non-compliant behaviour, and following health and safety guidelines.
The Support Worker will have the following skills and attributes:
* Hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or higher.
* Previous experience working with adults with learning disabilities or in a care setting.
* Keen interest in either arts and crafts, gardening and horticulture, or bicycle repairs.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly.
You will work on-site between 9.00am 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, and as required on evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Appointment will be subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks, and satisfactory references.
