About the Role: As an Early Years Teaching Assistant (TA), you will support the classroom teacher in delivering a stimulating and inclusive learning environment for children aged 3 to 5. Your role will involve helping to develop pupils’ early literacy, numeracy, social skills, and emotional well-being in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Key Responsibilities: Assist the class teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning space. Support children's learning through structured play, storytelling, sensory activities, and hands-on tasks. Monitor and record pupil progress against EYFS milestones and support next steps in their development. Work closely with small groups or on a one-to-one basis to provide targeted support and encouragement. Promote positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils, modelling respectful communication. Liaise with parents, carers, and the wider early years team to ensure each child's development is nurtured and celebrated. Contribute to the planning of activities and ensure safeguarding standards are upheld at all times. Job Requirements: Must hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years or Childcare. Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or school setting. Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults. A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting learning and development. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and respond to the needs of young learners. Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
