We are looking for a HLTA to join a supportive and inclusive Special School in Basildon. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity, perfect for someone who thrives on creating an engaging and nurturing environment for students with diverse learning needs. As an HLTA, you will play a pivotal role in supporting teachers, leading small group interventions, and covering lessons where needed. This role requires a proactive and flexible individual who is passionate about education and fostering a positive learning experience. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver pre-prepared lessons to ensure continued progress during teacher absences. Support the teacher in creating and maintaining an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. Assist with the planning, preparation, and evaluation of learning activities. Monitor and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and parents. Work collaboratively with the teaching team to support individual and group learning needs. Promote independence and self-confidence in students through tailored support. Ensure a safe and supportive environment in line with safeguarding policies. Qualifications and Experience Relevant HLTA qualification is essential. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths grades A-C or equivalent). Excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures. Adaptability, enthusiasm, and a commitment to continuous learning and development.
