Our client has a large portfolio of New Connections schemes of varying size and scale that consist of HV substations, overhead lines and cables works up to 132kV. These projects are a mix of early stages of development, delivery and project assessment. The schemes present an ideal opportunity to give something back to society in delivering our net zero ambition.
They are looking for Project Managers to support the delivery of these projects by working with their highly skilled engineers to provide Contract & Project Management support to include the 'kick off process to contract award' for jobs just been handed to the team for delivery from their internal design team.
The role requires a hybrid working approach with a mix of home, site and office working.
You will be able to demonstrate significant experience in project development and delivery of schemes safely, on time and to budget. Experience of developing/construction of energy/infrastructure projects is advantageous.
Duties
1. As an experienced Project / Programme Manager, you will support and mentor the wider team to develop capability and ensure resilience.
2. You'll have proficient knowledge of the application of CDM.
3. You'll have proficient knowledge of FIDIC/NEC/EPC contracts.
4. Knowledge of substations or overhead lines is advantageous.
5. Knowledge of UK distribution system engineering is advantageous but not essential.
6. Given some of the projects are in the early development phase experience in project development, seeking Development Consent Order and/or Local.
Key Accountabilities
1. Lead/Support the investment process during pre-construction, delivery and closure for projects of varying complexity ensuring governance is maintained throughout.
2. You will develop/support, sanction, and deliver the optimal solution, ensuring best value to the consumer.
3. Ensure internal and contractor compliance with Health & Safety, COM & Environmental legislation as well as adherence to SHES standards.
4. Assess the need and where required appoint Front End Engineering Design (FEED) support. Monitor and control their activities to provide an optimal compliant solution in a timely manner.
5. Provide regular project status reports giving accurate financial forecasting, SHESQ performance, milestone progress & risk management data.
