We are currently seeking a Lubrication Operative to join our client's team at their facility in Buxton. This is a permanent full-time position at 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday on either 6-2 or 8-4 shifts, which would need to be agreed upon. Flexibility is required for occasional late shifts if necessary.
Overtime is available at x 1.5 on weekdays and AM Saturday, x 2 on PM Saturday, and all day Sunday.
Lubrication Operative
The successful candidate will ensure all required lubrication is carried out as per the schedule, focusing on maintaining the availability and reliability of the plant at the lowest maintenance costs. This role covers all rotating equipment on the processing plant and the mobile plant fleet.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Oil changes and sampling.
2. Checking and filling lubricant & hydraulic tanks.
3. Stock monitoring.
4. Filter changes and lubrication system maintenance.
5. Breather maintenance and replacement.
6. Lubrication system top-up and maintenance and oil analysis.
7. Keeping the lubrication schedule up to date.
8. Ensure focused, proactive communication of any potential new miss/hazards within the work area to the Company's Health & Safety Department and Line Management.
9. Complete ad-hoc duties, tasks, and projects as required.
Skills & Knowledge
1. The successful candidate will be an experienced lubrication technician, ideally with an industrial background.
2. You will be able to work with minimal supervision through analysis, judgement, and initiative to resolve issues in a safe, time-oriented, and cost-effective manner.
3. Demonstrate that you can work safely.
4. Possess good organisational and communication skills.
5. Have the appropriate skills and qualifications to execute the requirements of the role and provide flexibility to undertake emergency repairs where and when these arise.
6. Mechanical trade qualified or technically minded and interested in working in a ‘hands-on’ role.
7. Mining or heavy industrial/manufacturing experience would be highly regarded.
8. Experience with completing lubrication inspections, changing oil, and taking oil samples, greasing, and lubricating equipment is advantageous.
9. A valid UK Full Driver’s Licence is essential.
10. Telehandler Licence is an advantage but can be provided.
11. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety standards.
12. High levels of planning, organising and ability to prioritise tasks.
13. Ability to work as part of a diverse team.
14. Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
15. Effective listening and strong interpersonal skills.
