Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to work as part of our team in Nottingham.
This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £39,000 per annum.
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and supervise the Maintenance Team providing a planned and responsive maintenance service in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedule (PPM), and Annual Sinking Fund.
Role responsibilities as Maintenance Supervisor include:
* Implement and maintain robust processes to deal effectively and efficiently with all University requests for reactive maintenance services.
* Prepare and deliver the annual PPM programme of works through directly employed and subcontracted staff, in a timely manner and within budget.
* Produce weekly and monthly reports detailing the service delivery statistics for the preceding week/month.
* Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including maintaining records for statutory compliance, including instances of student damage.
* Assist the Business Manager in preparing and delivering the sinking fund programme of works.
* Manage the activities, training, and welfare of the Maintenance Team and sub-contractors including validation and submission of leave requests and timesheets to ensure service is effectively planned, achieved, and continuously improved.
* Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all maintenance activities are delivered within agreed budgets.
* Escalate any Health and Safety issues ensuring any follow-up actions are completed.
* Undertake work within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and all relevant records are kept up to date.
We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment ideally with a HNC/HND in a building services discipline, have great communication and organisation skills along with the ability to remain calm under pressure and a passion to do a great job.
You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. Experience of managing a computerised facilities management system would also be beneficial.
You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
