We are looking for an experienced and motivated Helpdesk Team leader to join our HPC team based in Bolney, UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and executing tasks related to IT infrastructure and systems administration. This includes overseeing internal staff and outsourced resources involved in the installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of IT software, hardware systems, data/voice networks, and internal databases.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and manage the team, including performance reviews and quarterly appraisals.
* Develop and maintain internal knowledge bases.
* Monitor team performance, providing guidance and support to ensure productivity.
* Handle IT 1st line issues, prioritizing and escalating to 2nd/3rd line as needed.
* Communicate promptly with stakeholders.
* Prepare regular activity reports and ad hoc reports for major IT incidents.
* Ensure high customer satisfaction by capturing and resolving service requests and incidents.
* Manage user accounts and perform data-related tasks, such as daily backup checks and data transfers.
* Ensure uptime, performance, and resource availability for all IT systems.
* Monitor and improve the performance of wide area and local area networks.
* Identify and resolve network issues.
* Upgrade network hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment.
* Manage IT data center operations to ensure data quality, accuracy, and security.
Required Skills
* Knowledge of DC hardware.
* Understanding of Network terminology.
This role requires 5 days a week on site.
