Job Responsibilities
1. Effectively lead the site Health & Safety culture as the top priority.
2. Train all MHE staff to use the FMS (Fleet Management System).
3. Complete/support site inductions for MHE and Manual Handling.
4. Support the completion of Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Working Practices (SWP) with the nominated personnel.
5. Provide high-level technical skills training to support operations through various delivery methods.
6. Ensure all training is completed and recorded in compliance with company policy as part of a close team.
7. Develop a site skills matrix to facilitate all MHE training and ensure operators' skill levels are satisfactory, with timely refresher training.
8. Manage the number of MHE operators to minimize skill fade and risks from inexperienced or infrequent users.
9. Maintain ongoing competence of MHE operators through refresher training, workplace assessments, and additional training after unsafe practices or incidents.
10. Assist and advise in investigating on-site and MHE-related incidents/accidents.
11. Proactively reduce risks from MHE operations and develop learning briefings to prevent recurrence.
12. Assist in creating Safe Systems of Work and conduct risk assessments for MHE activities.
13. Identify hazards and implement control measures to eliminate or reduce risks, ensuring staff are trained accordingly.
14. Review safety audit GAP analyses with site management to ensure completion of all areas.
15. Liaise with operational management to cover all site training requirements across shifts.
16. Work as part of the Site MHE instructor team to ensure training is completed and documented per company policy.
17. Participate actively in the wider management team, offering suggestions for problem-solving and safety improvements.
18. Compile data and information for accurate KPI and monthly reports for management.
