Sales Manager (Cruise Photography Sales)\nLocation: Hybrid role, mixed between working from home and working in Southampton for regular ship visits (at least 2-3 times per week). UK Driver’s License and own transport required. International travel required circa 4-6 times per year, for 1-2 weeks at a time.\nWho We Are: Tempest Travel Photography (TTP) is a pioneering cruise photography company servicing P&O Cruises and Cunard ships.

Our Sales Manager will play a key role in ensuring we meet our sales potential, shaping young, multicultural teams, and maintaining high sales standards in a dynamic environment.\nThe Role: We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Sales Manager with a passion for training, motivating, and guiding our teams to achieve sales excellence.
This is a senior role where you will lead and coach 11 onboard Photo Managers, providing them with the tools, support, and strategies they need to deliver excellent sales performance. While knowledge of cruise operations and/or photography is beneficial, our primary focus is finding someone with a proven background in multi-site retail sales management who understands what it takes to drive performance.\nResponsibilities\n• Team Leadership: Lead by example, setting the standard for behaviour, attitude, and actions. This role is responsible for guiding a team of 11 managers, acting as their first point of contact.\n• Sales Training & Support: Design and implement a series of sales and engagement training programmes.
Travel on our ships up to six times per year to deliver in-person sales coaching, ensuring teams can engage guests effectively and adapt strategies to changing environments.\n• Regular Ship Visits in Southampton: Attend ship visits when they are berthed in Southampton to stay engaged with the team and assess their support needs. This can sometimes include weekends, however time back in lieu is offered in return.\n• Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on sales data, working closely with managers to analyse performance and implement effective sales strategies.\n• Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Tempest HQ marketing team and Carnival UK to create and execute seasonal sales initiatives, ensuring that our onboard offerings stay fresh and aligned with guest expectations.\n• Marketing Collateral Management: Working with our internal Marketing team to develop and manage all onboard sales and marketing materials, ensuring they are visually engaging and impactful.\n• Flexible Hours: While this role requires flexibility beyond the usual 9-5, especially when traveling, we reciprocate that flexibility wherever possible. Weekend ship visits in port are typically only in the mornings and usually on either Saturday or Sunday – but not both.
These visits are needed about once or twice per month over the summer and can often be scheduled around your availability. Time in lieu is always provided to maintain a healthy work-life balance.\n• Remote Management: When not traveling, provide remote guidance to all Photo Managers, holding them accountable through regular check-ins, reviews, and setting performance improvement plans where necessary.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n• Experienced Sales Leader: Strong background in managing sales across multiple sites, ideally within a retail or customer-facing environment. This should include the design and delivery of sales and engagement training programmes.\n• Energetic and Results-Driven: Ability to energise others and achieve sales targets in a high-paced, changing environment.\n• Accountability: The ability and drive to work autonomously and proactively is essential.\n• Excellent Communication Skills: Confident, clear communicator with the ability to present data and ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.\n• People Focused: A natural talent for confident guest engagement and the ability to inspire young multicultural teams.\n• Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, reporting, and the ability to interrogate large volumes of sales data.
