The Trust currently runs a 5 day week elective service and a 7 day 24hr emergency service which includes trauma and maternity services. Applicants will be expected to work a shift pattern incorporating days, lates, weekends and occasionally nights if required.
Main duties of the job
We welcome new practitioners who want a change of career and offer an excellent in-house training and development program. For more experienced Practitioners who may be looking for a new challenge, we are one of the World’s leading centres for Peritoneal Malignancy surgery and are one of two Hospitals in the UK funded to treat appendix cancer also known as Pseudomyxoma peritonei. We perform Cytoreductive surgery with Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) and have an international reputation for treating peritoneal malignancy from colorectal cancer and peritoneal mesothelioma, regularly hosting teaching and training for healthcare professionals from around the globe. We also undertake advanced laparoscopic Colorectal and Gynaecological surgery, Liver resections and complex urology, as well trauma and elective orthopaedics. The orthopaedic department is recognised as a leading centre for corrective osteotomy and also for enhanced recovery for arthroplasty.
