Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staffing Industry Attorney to join our legal team. This individual will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts related to the staffing industry. The ideal candidate will possess specific expertise in staffing contracts and related legal matters, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and supporting business operations with legal insights. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure all contractual obligations align with company objectives and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Review and Drafting: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including staffing agreements, client service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, vendor contracts, and employee-related documents, ensuring they comply with company policies and legal regulations.
* Staffing Industry Expertise: Provide specialized legal advice on issues specific to the staffing industry, including labor law compliance, employment classifications, independent contractor agreements, and risk management in temporary and permanent staffing solutions.
* Legal Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and advise on compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including wage and hour laws, workers' compensation, and other industry-specific regulations affecting staffing companies.
* Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal teams, including HR, operations, and business development, to align legal strategy with business objectives. Provide proactive guidance on legal considerations in staffing-related business initiatives.
* Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain organized records of contracts, amendments, and legal correspondence for internal tracking and compliance purposes.
* Legal Research: Stay updated on emerging legal trends and developments within the staffing industry, and provide recommendations for adapting contracts and policies accordingly.
Qualifications
* Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
* 3+ years of legal experience, with a focus on contract law and staffing industry matters.
* In-depth knowledge of staffing industry regulations, including wage and hour laws, labor laws, and related compliance issues.
* Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts related to the staffing and employment sectors.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage legal risks.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
* High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong negotiation skills and a client-service-oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with large-scale staffing agencies or companies in the recruitment industry.
* Knowledge of international staffing laws and regulations (if applicable).
* Familiarity with HR technology and tools used in staffing and workforce management.
