Role: Support Worker
Location: Crawley
Salary / Rate of pay: £11.75 to £12.20 per hour
Type: Permanent & Full Time
The Support Worker will provide the best possible support to people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Acquired Brain Injury to help them reach their full potential. This includes promoting a person-centered approach to support planning, monitoring, and reviewing their needs and wishes.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide general care and support for individuals based on their assessed needs.
2. Assist customers with personal care, medication needs, and access to relevant health care.
3. Support customers in attending meaningful daytime occupations and leisure activities.
4. Help customers maintain and develop relationships with family, friends, and professionals.
5. Assist with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, and laundry.
6. Promote independence and social skills among customers.
7. Support customers with financial management as agreed.
8. Ensure documentation within the customers' home is accurately updated.
9. Encourage customers to make decisions and be accountable for them.
10. Provide high standards of support that promote positive behavior and well-being.
11. Maintain good working relationships within the team and with relevant individuals.
12. Work shifts, including sleeping in and waking night duties, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
13. Comply with policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of service users.
14. Maintain confidentiality regarding service users, records, staff, and third-party information.
15. Attend and complete training sessions and staff meetings as necessary.
16. Act as a keyworker when required.
17. Identify maintenance and security issues and report them to Head Office.
18. Undertake domestic chores to maintain a hygienically clean standard.
19. Deliver services with respect and a commitment to equal opportunities.
20. Meet Health and Safety requirements of the Company and the Law.
21. Comply with all protocols and policies to promote health and safety.
22. Undertake other duties as required by the Service Manager.
23. Be an ambassador for the company and maintain a commitment to providing the best support.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Values the rights of people with disabilities.
2. Understands the needs of people with Learning Disabilities.
3. Able to work well as a team member.
4. Competent in basic mathematics and written skills.
5. Support customers with domestic duties, including cooking and cleaning.
6. Assist with personal care when required.
