Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing: As a Pre Press Operative you will ensure all pre-press aspects are ready and prepared for the presses, this includes inks, cylinders, plates and mounting. The pre-press operator will also be trained basic on all the presses to help cover breaks and holiday cover but mainly to assist in change overs. We are currently on a lean journey so this role is to help cut all the wastes of change overs whilst supporting improved run times. you will play a pivotal role in creating high quality products for our customers. You will be: Assisting in changeovers on our presses, which range from 4 colour stack presses to an 8 colour CI press Mixing Inks to standards and press ready Preparing all Mounting for presses Identify and resolve print issues Using IQC and IFS software for colour matching Completing shift handovers to ensure a smooth transition and continuous production. As a matter of routine, ensuring the machinery is in an appropriate operational condition and that the next shift has been briefed on where production is up to and any other relevant production issues Optimising the change overs, as H&S and quality allow Operating processes in line with lean manufacturing techniques including SMED and the 5S principles Maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Ensuring that all spills are logged and cleaned immediately. Also, ensuring your colleagues are working in a safe way in your area A Few Things About You: Ideally with pre-press experience (Desirable) Experience of working as a Printer (Essential) NVQ in Print (Desirable) Meticulous with a real eye for detail Can work under own initiative Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline intensive environment Strong problem-solving skills Basic computer skills Demonstrates excellent time-keeping and attendance When you’ll be working: Working an average of 39.5 hours per week Rotating 3-week pattern, working rotating days and nights (with no Saturday or Sunday) Hours from 06:45 -19:00 and 18:45 - 07:00 Who We Are: Flexipol is in its 29th year, and during this time the business has grown steadily each year, providing long term secure employment.
