In preparing for that we have new opportunity available for a Finance and Procurement Assistant to join our team based at York, and we would love for you to be part of it Grand Central is an open-access train operator linking the North East and West Yorkshire with London. Contract; this is a full-time permanent contract working Monday to Friday with hybrid working options. What will I be doing as an Finance and Procurement Assistant? Reporting into the Financial Accountant you will co-ordinate and support the administrative aspects of finance and procurement. Duties will include but not limited to; Finance Administration Responsible for Accounts Payable coordination between GC and the Shared Service Centre. Manage and control the Accounts Receivable invoicing and aged debtors. Administer customer compensation payment processing. Procurement Administration Co-ordinate the set-up of new and maintenance of existing suppliers, undertaking the necessary checks and obtaining the required information. Create Purchase Requisitions for spend within Finance and Business Development Director Budget. Undertake routine company buying to support budget holders. Maintenance of Oracle iProcurement including setting up and training new users and maintaining smart forms and catalogues. Maintenance of contracts database for the business and lease schedules Provide general administrative support to the Finance and Procurement teams. Financial Accounting Support the Financial Accountant in submitting the period end and month end management accounts to I Squared through Consolid8 Provide support to the management accountant on ad-hoc tasks such as financial analysis, forecasting, and cost reporting. Play a key role in year-end preparation and reporting requirements and supporting the Financial Accountant in the annual statutory audit and any internal audits, as required. Undertake Bank account and Balance Sheet reconciliations. Support the management of cash, petty cash, expense claims and VAT returns. Provide information in respect of ad hoc/periodic data requests from external and internal stakeholders. What will I need to be successful as a Finance and Procurement Assistant? Good written and verbal communication skills. Competent Excel user and skilled in Microsoft Office. Ability to work to tightly defined deadlines, with minimum support. Capable of balancing a diverse workload and flexible to react to the business needs. Experience with Oracle Financials an advantage. Previous experience working in an SME highly desirable.
