1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH Provision) An SEMH alternative provision based in Northampton is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join its supportive team. This unique setting caters to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), offering a safe space for them to feel comfortable, thrive, and achieve to the best of their ability. The successful candidate will work closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing tailored support that helps them overcome challenges and achieve their personal and academic goals. This role requires someone who can build strong, trusting relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized support to students with EHCPs, helping them to engage with their learning and develop essential skills. Foster a positive and nurturing environment, reinforcing the strong behaviour management already established within the provision. Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to implement personalized strategies for student success. Monitor and document progress, offering encouragement and adjusting support as needed. Requirements: Experience working with children or young people, preferably in an SEMH or similar educational setting. A proactive, understanding, and flexible approach to supporting individual needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
