Salary: £100 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Full time and Part-time positions available; Working hours are 8.45am - 4.15pm
Start Date: Interviews to be conducted in July

Job Role: We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our dedicated team. The successful candidates will provide assistance and support to students aged 16-18 with Special Educational Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping to facilitate their learning, independence, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Offer tailored learning support to students with SEMH needs within the classroom setting, on a one-to-one or small group basis.
2. Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
3. Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to promote a positive learning environment.
4. Encourage and prompt students in their work and manage behavior in line with the school’s policies and strategies.
5. Support the students in the use of assistive technology or other resources as appropriate.
6. Observe and track the students’ progress, reporting back to the relevant parties.
7. Facilitate the inclusion of students in all aspects of college life.
8. Attend to the students’ personal needs where necessary, ensuring dignity and fostering independence.
9. Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities.
Essential Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
2. Child and adult DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one before commencement of the role).
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students to learn and grow.
5. Good literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning or relevant field.
2. Training or qualifications related to mental health or special educational needs.
