Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual passionate about cancer services to join Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust as the Macmillan Deputy Lead Cancer Nurse In the role you will deputise for the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse specialising in the field of cancer care, leading, influencing, developing and expanding cancer services throughout the Trust and strategically influencing the direction of cancer nursing. You must be able to demonstrate commitment and drive, along with excellent communication skills. Being a flexible and adaptable compassionate leader is also essential to the role. Main duties of the job You will work collaboratively with a variety of health care professionals from primary and secondary care settings, Integrated Care System, East of England Cancer Alliance, patients, their representatives and external agencies to ensure the delivery of cancer services within the Trust are consistent with both national and local strategy, to include relevant governance, quality and operational frameworks. Responsible for the development of a high quality, effective and efficient service to patients and healthcare professionals through leadership and supervision, robust clinical governance and education. Directly responsible for the line management of designated Cancer Nurse Specialists who are accountable and responsible for the leadership and direction of their teams and the services they deliver. Support the East of England Cancer Alliance transformational projects to support the delivery of the Personalised Care agenda, along with other initiatives alongside the Macmillan Lead Cancer Nurse.
