The difference you will make as a Registration Officer: Work as a member of the Registration team and Support the Building Safety Manager (Registration & Assessment to ensure the organization registers all high risk buildings with the building safety regulator and maintains the registration, prepare and support building safety case report. Liaise directly with the regulator and manage all enquiries and submissions and the mandatory inspections and occurrence reporting. Role Profile Support the Building Safety Manager (Registration & Assessment Submit applications for all buildings in occupation to the regulator for a “Building Registration Certificate” for all in scope high risk buildings with the Building Safety Regulator on behalf of the Groups Licenced Duty Holder and Accountable person and ensure no buildings are occupied without the appropriate certification issued by the regulator. Support the development of individual safety cases for each in scope building, including a written explanation and justification of the approach being taken to manage risks, referencing the supporting evidence in the safety case. Keep the safety case up to date to provide assurance that we understand the fire and structural risks in our buildings and are taking appropriate steps and actions to mitigate and manage risks. Support the delivery of Registration Service to ensure a high-quality service and be aware of changes in regulation and registration requirements. Providing advice to Building Safety managers on the Registration as to whether they need to submit any applications for building work to the Building Safety Regulator. Ensure no building works start before Building Safety Regulator approval is received Maintain copies of the Building Registration Certificate for all registered buildings Processing amendments and removals on register entries, identifying and dealing with queries to ensure the change is carried out in accordance with policies and procedures laid down, Support the mandatory inspections and occurrence reporting regime both internally and externally with the Building Safety Regulator. Issuing draft registrations; approving amendments and removals; dealing with queries relating to existing registrations and resolving queries in connection to fee and administrative issues Assist in managing queries from the regulator and other administrative tasks to support the registration process. Dealing with queries from data subjects regarding entries in the public register and general data requests from the regulator Be aware of the requirements of data protection and safeguard data to ensure we do not breech regulations and operate in line with our policy. Manage the systems that support the process of registration, ensuring they work effectively, provide a good experience to applicants and minimise effort for staff. Manage the database (digital golden thread) of buildings keeping it up to date. Automate as much of the process of managing registration as possible. Support with the creation and amendments of registration guidance documents and support manuals Attend internal meetings, and accompany other staff to external meetings with the regulator Provide briefings to support presentation of Building safety case report overviews to regulator and colleagues Person specification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential Experience of working within an Building safety, Asset or health and safety team, ideally supporting building safety inspections. Knowledge of the requirements for registration under the Building Safety Act. Ability to to successfully work with and update, persuade and influence others. Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business. Results driven with strong analytical skills, including the ability to critically analyse information, and experience of providing meaningful management information. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Desirable Knowledge of and experience Registration schemes Experience of successfully undertaking a similar role in asset compliance or health and safety, supporting compliance teams, and carrying out a range of co-ordinator and administrative duties.
