We are looking for a Water Hygiene Assistant to join our team at HMNB Portsmouth, full training for this role will be provided.

Main duties you will be performing;
* Attend to planned maintenance tasks on water systems, ensuring rigorous compliance with ACOP L8 & HSG274. This includes essential activities such as water system flushing, temperature monitoring, shower descaling, disinfection, and water sampling.
* Tackle reactive maintenance, addressing emergency call-outs to minimise downtime and safeguard water hygiene services.
* Conduct regular, thorough inspections and testing of water systems, recording their condition and promptly escalating any issues or risks to supervisors.
* Follow a structured workload schedule, ensuring that both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
* Proactively drive performance to meet site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), consistently delivering results within the defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of the contract
* Complete all maintenance activities with a commitment to health and safety regulations, company policies, and client standards, including strict adherence to JSPs.
* Ensure that all accidents, hazards, and near misses are reported without delay, facilitating timely and effective risk mitigation.
* Complete all required documentation with precision, including job completion reports, risk assessments, and maintenance logs, using the Mobile Tablet system.
* Engage with clients and end users professionally and courteously, ensuring their expectations are not only met but exceeded, and addressing any concerns with efficiency and tact.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Basic IT Skills – Comfortable using devices and software for logging tasks and completing reports.
Desirable:
* Legionella L8 awareness
* Experience of carrying out planned maintenance work within the water hygiene industry
* First Aid at Work
* Experience of carrying out remedial maintenance work within the Water Hygiene industry.
* Experience of installing or servicing Softeners
* An unvented water heater qualification
* Experience in plumbing of domestic water system, including dead leg removal and working with copper and plastic pipework
* A recognised plumbing qualification.
