Our client is a dynamic, mixed comprehensive school on the lookout for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to provide hands-on support for all of their school’s IT equipment. From computers and software to printers and everything in between, you’ll play a vital role in keeping their tech running smoothly.
Please note the employer asks that you join a 8-12-week training programme delivered by Just IT. This will be delivered remotely and will provide you the necessary experience and skills required to start the role. This is not a direct position with Just IT.
KEY DUTIES
1. To provide the technical support for all the school’s IT equipment including computers, software and associated peripherals
2. To work with service providers in the deployment of hardware and software required by the school
3. Daily monitoring of the network and servers, backup processes and anti-virus protection and firewalls to ensure network availability
4. To monitor the IT helpdesk and prioritise and respond accordingly
5. To update and maintain documentation such as logs and audits as part of administrative procedures
6. To prepare and install resources and be available to provide support for teaching and learning and school events
7. To perform the maintenance, development and update of the school website, intranet and managed learning environment
8. To provide general maintenance or repairs and updates of computer equipment and associated software and arrange repairs to faulty computer equipment and associated peripherals
9. To train where appropriate, teacher and support staff in the use of hardware or relevant software
10. To undertake such other duties as required by the Head teacher commensurate with the grading of the post
11. To uphold the school’s policies and procedures regarding the safeguarding of all young people, equal opportunities and health and safety

ELIGIBILITY
1. Living in the North East area of England (County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside, and Sunderland)
2. Employed, self-employed, career changers, returners to work or unemployed within the last 12 months.
3. Have the right to live and work in the UK.
4. Have access to a reliable internet connection with a PC/ Laptop.
