Introduction Responsibilities • Key role within the AV engineering team in the management and support of the AV Equipment within BBC Meeting Rooms. • Daily proactive monitoring/maintenance of AV systems in meeting rooms to ensure functioning correctly. • Management and end to end ownership of raised support tickets in Remedy by BBC staff. • Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for Audio/Video conferencing issues o Log/raise in remedy as required. o Investigate and diagnose faults and recommend further actions for raised requests to diagnose and resolve as appropriate. o Work with 3rd party providers/onsite teams to assist with troubleshooting of in-room issues including replacement of faulty equipment. o Maintain/manage workflow end to end until resolution. o Work to specific agreed SLA's as part of a managed AV Service to BBC departments. • Manage RMA process with suppliers for faulty/warranty AV equipment. • Maintain and manage AV estate equipment/spares across BBC sites. • Own the master spreadsheet / database of AV under the managed service including Asset Tagging and updating of CMDB for accurate billing under contract as the estate changes. • Conduct site surveys for meeting rooms and recommend designs for AV equipment. • Take ownership of AV installations including: o Pre-stage/configuration of AV equipment o Install and co-ordinate with onsite BBC staff as necessary o Test and certify systems onto managed service o Update master portfolio of managed AV systems. • Implement room moves/changes including decommission/redeployment of AV Systems. • Provide communication to stakeholders, conveying technical information clearly to non-technical staff, either verbally or in written form. • Attend Global AV meetings with BBC commercial departments/divisions and own actions and follow up as required. • Maintain knowledge of industry and competitor developments in order to learn new technologies and help introduce them where appropriate. • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers on Product Updates/Roadmaps. • Review and test software/firmware updates on AV managed estate with recommendations on deployment cycles (scheduled and unscheduled). • Provide regular reporting service review boards and recommendations on service improvements. Are you the right candidate? Essential • Experience assisting with the design, delivery or support of technical systems and infrastructure within a media technology environment. • Experience of AV systems configuration, installation and certification for enterprise use including but not limited to: o Poly Studio X, Logitech, Neat codecs and accessories. o Poly Lens, NEAT Pulse, Logi SYNC, MS Teams Admin Centre/Pro Portal. o Remedy/Service Now. • Experience and understanding of networking protocols for connected AV equipment and systems. • Understanding of new and emerging technologies and how these may be applied within AV technology projects and products. • Motivated and organised with the ability to manage multiple active tasks. • Good communication (spoken, written, listening) and IT skills. • Able to work in a diverse and varied team, showing evidence of dealing with technical issues and providing cover as necessary. • Able to deliver to deadlines and demonstrate resilience to ensure the correct technical solution is selected. • Awareness of translating project, user and product requirements into implemented technical solutions. • Manage ad hoc AV Project installations under the guidance of the Unified Comms Product Managers. Desirable • Knowledge and experience of programming/configuring Crestron/Extron control systems. • Knowledge of Digital Signage Systems, configuration of players/network devices and CMS (e.g., Appspace). • Knowledge and experience of Azure/AWS configuration. • Awareness of broadcast or datacentre infrastructure installations including power, environmental and space layout considerations. • Experience working alongside third party service delivery or support in an engineering environment. • Knowledge of cloud computing disciplines (Networking as a Service, (NaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)) and Internet Protocol (IP) technologies.
