About the Role
Reporting to the UAS Build Team Leader, in the role of Production Operator will build complex UAVs in a safe manner from a kit of parts by diligently following engineering information and in accordance with the Company Operating System. In addition, there is a requirement to be involved in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
Role Responsibilities
* Assembling unmanned aerial vehicles in accordance with work instructions and from the kit of parts supplied.
* Crimping connectors and soldering small components.
* Assembling components and assemblies using small screws and nuts.
* Checking work by using test equipment to verify correct assembly.
* Follow written and verbal instructions to perform build tasks as part of an overall UAV build programme.
* Get involved in problem solving to improve the build process.
* Demonstrate in daily activities a commitment to health and safety in the workplace by always ensuring tasks are performed in the safest possible manner.
* Report all hazards and incidents that the individual is party to, or observes, in the correct manner.
* When required or directed, participate in any health and safety training.
* Perform other related duties as required.
About You
Skills:
Essential
* Good communication skills.
* Construction of electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Following both written and verbal work instructions.
* Supporting problem-solving activities to reduce non-conformance arisings and reducing build time.
Desirable
* A full valid UK driving license.
* Evidence of regularly testing of your own work.
* Experience with UAV and aircraft.
Personal Attributes:
* Must be a British Citizen or have an existing right to work in the UK.
* Ability to commit to occasional national and international travel.
* Excellent communicator.
* Excellent problem-solving ability.
* Ability to work well in a team.
* Enthusiasm for their work and self-motivated.
* Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK.
