This company is a well-established, successful, modern SME manufacturing business that is based in Stockport. They are looking for a forward-thinking, hands-on Quality Manager who can build robust quality standards, ensure compliance and a ‘right first-time’ approach to delivering the best outcomes for the customer.
The company is ISO:9001 accredited and will be investing in further accreditations in the not-too-distant future to demonstrate its environmental credentials via ISO:14001.
They also have low staff turnover, strong values and a modern manufacturing working environment with significant investment in new equipment to continue to support its aim of being a flexible, fast turnaround, batch manufacturing provider.
This is an integral role, reporting directly to the Head of Operations and with significant freedom to deliver desired outcomes.
With this in mind, we are looking for someone who has a genuine desire to get a company to WCM standards, can motivate and build a team that continually works to robust quality outputs, has a constant eye on continuous improvement and can work closely with other senior leadership to achieve and maintain ISO:14001 and world-class standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily safety and quality activities, ensuring adherence to HSE regulations
Manage and ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
Investigate and resolve customer complaints and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate environmental activities to help the company attain ISO 14001
Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Oversee quality assurance processes and conduct supplier audits Main duties to include:
Report daily KPIs on quality performance
Support new product introduction (NPI) processes
Drive health and safety improvements and manage risk assessments
Supporting business initiatives to improve quality, safety, people, programs and cost delivery
Provide training and support to staff, promoting teamwork and development Skills needed:
Solid experience in managing Quality in an SME manufacturing environment
Experience in an ISO 9001 regulated environment
Hands on capabilities (to start with, the role will be 80% shop floor work, 20% office)
Solid people and communication skills
A NEBOSH qualification would be desirable
Driver essential as there will be occasional visits to customer sites In return you can expect:
