SEN Specialist Teaching Assistant – Make a Real Difference in Merthyr!
Location: Schools across Merthyr Tydfil
Pay: £89.38 per day (£13.75 per hour)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Ongoing, with flexible start dates
Are you a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with additional learning needs? We’re looking for SEN Specialists to join our team and provide vital support in both mainstream and specialist settings across Merthyr.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work one-to-one or in small groups with pupils who require extra support due to autism, ADHD, SEMH needs or other complex challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting children with a range of additional needs in the classroom
* Working 1:1 or in small groups to support engagement and learning
* Helping manage emotional and behavioural challenges in a calm and effective way
* Assisting with personal care and sensory needs where necessary
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

What We’re Looking For:
* Experience supporting children with SEN/ALN, including autism, ADHD or SEMH
* Confident with behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
* Patient, empathetic and resilient
* DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
* A positive attitude and strong team-working skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
