Our client, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), is seeking a Procurement and Business Partner to oversee and lead strategic procurement activities across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a strong background in contract management and business partnering.
As a Procurement and Business Partner, you will:
* Manage and lead NICE’s procurement of goods and services with a non-pay budget of approximately £28m.
* Provide expert leadership in procurement processes and contract management across NICE, developing and implementing policies and quality assurance procedures.
* Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with procurement regulations.
* Offer professional advice on complex procurement and contractual matters, ensuring adherence to governance principles.
* Lead and support the development and delivery of training programmes to staff, directors, and senior management on procurement standards and practices.
* Oversee and manage tenders, critically appraise complex procurement documents, and ensure financial and operational compliance.
The right candidate is:
* A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in procurement or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of procurement methods, commercial law, and business analysis techniques.
* Experience in managing procurement strategies and processes within a public sector or large organisational context.
* Proven ability to provide leadership in procurement and contract management across multiple stakeholders and teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex procurement issues to non-experts.
* Demonstrable experience in managing and motivating teams, ensuring high-quality outputs and results.
* A high level of attention to detail, autonomy, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
