We are excited to offer the opportunity to join our outstanding team in Calderdale as a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and Cognition and Learning Support worker. This role is crucial in delivering targeted interventions to students who require assistance with cognitive learning and behavioural challenges. Day-to-day of the role:
* Delivering tailored interventions to enhance students’ reading skills and cognitive learning, which focuses on maximising the brain’s potential and deepening memory retention.
* Supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them manage their behaviour and emotions effectively within the school environment.
* Collaborating with teachers and other educational professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
* Monitoring and reporting on the progress of interventions, adapting strategies to meet the individual needs of each student.
* Engaging with students in a manner that is both supportive and inspiring, encouraging them to achieve their best.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar role or a role requiring transferable skills, particularly within SEN settings.
* Confidence in handling challenging behaviours and a passion for going above and beyond to support children with special needs.
* Team Teach training is preferable.
* Must possess a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
