Role: Part-Time Primary Care Network Manager
Base: Remote and in Practice
Hours: 14 – 18 hours per week (secondment considered)
Accountable to: Clinical Director
Employed by: The Pulteney Practice
Fixed Term: 12 months
Salary: Depending on experience
Primary care networks (PCNs) were set up in 2019 and build on the core work of current primary care services. They enable GP practices within a specific area to provide more proactive, personalised, coordinated and integrated health and social care for communities at a neighbourhood level. The PCN Directly Enhanced Service Level Agreement (DES) evolves each year, prioritising different projects and work streams. Although the role of the PCN Manager is a fixed term for the current contract year, it is reviewed annually and the job description amended based on the changes to the DES.
Unity PCN is a collaborative partnership between two general practice organisations in Bath: The University Medical Centre and The Pulteney Practice. We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and innovative part-time PCN manager to join our team and support our network due to the retirement of our current post-holder.
The PCN Manager is responsible for overseeing the contract management of this network. This entails close collaboration with the Practice Managers to coordinate services across the network, managing financial affairs (through liaison with the PCN Finance Manager), supporting new PCN initiatives (in consultation with PMs), collaborating with other PCN Managers, and attending briefings with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) and other external providers.
This role can include both the contract management and financial elements of the PCN DES, and the hours will be tailored accordingly.
Main duties of the job
The PCN Manager will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the PCN. Collaborating with the management team, you will be accountable for:
* Providing support to Practice Managers in recruitment and retention of PCN staff.
* Collaborating with member practices to identify areas of shared concern or potential for collaborative working within the PCN specifications.
* Supporting the Finance Manager to manage claims for ARRS funding and closely supervising the management of PCN finances.
* Supporting the development of bids for new funding and financial streams as they become available to the PCN.
We are a supportive, hardworking team, reflected by our shared values of caring for each other and our patients. We are committed to providing the highest quality of care for our patients and ensuring that our staff feel valued and motivated. There is a strong team ethos across the practices, fostering a friendly and professional working environment.
