Job Description
KFF is currently recruiting for a full-time, permanent Quality Manager to join the team based at our Aylesford depot, reporting to the Head of Distribution Quality Control.
As the Quality Manager, you will oversee the KFF wholesale distribution depot at Aylesford and a small manufacturing facility (4 people). Your responsibility is to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, and legal requirements through the implementation, monitoring, and audits of a Quality Management System.
Please note that the expected start date for this role is 1st July 2025.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Maintain Salsa / STS certifications at the manufacturing site, with a goal to progress from SALSA / STS to BRC Food Safety certification.
* Maintain MSC / ASC and other third-party certifications.
* Maintain BRC Storage & Distribution certification for the distribution site.
* Conduct internal audits of the site against the QMS & BRC Storage & Distribution Standard.
* Manage the Approved Supplier List, including onboarding new suppliers and products, and implement a supplier audit program based on risk assessments.
* Approve new product codes following review of supplier Due Diligence information, ensuring product labelling accuracy.
* Support customer and regulatory visits or audits as required.
* Investigate complaints and product non-conformances related to technical issues.
* Ensure personnel are trained appropriately in food safety, quality, hygiene, and legality.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you must hold a full clean Drivers Licence. An Food Science Technology degree (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential. You should be HACCP and Internal/Lead Auditor qualified. This role is suitable for a Junior Quality Manager or a Quality Manager seeking career advancement in food production. You must have demonstrable manufacturing experience and knowledge of relevant food safety legislation, QMS, BRC standards, and auditing. Excellent communication skills, customer focus, organization, and project management skills are essential. You should be tenacious, detail-oriented, and capable of following through on tasks.
