Our team is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join the team in our Newcastle office. With ongoing flexibility, applicants residing in Regional New South Wales are encouraged to apply.
About the role
* Ensure process engineering design and documentation is consistent with study and project scope & objectives.
* Develop and assist in development of the following:
o Process Design Criteria (PDC)
o Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
o Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
o Control philosophies and tables
o Process equipment sizing
o Heat and mass balances and models
* Provide process engineering and mineral processing expertise all the way through engineering phases from conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design and similarly develop connections in the wider Ausenco to leverage capabilities.
* Apply innovative solutions and technological developments that bring greater value to clients.
* Mentor other Process Engineers and Graduates within the team.
* Work in collaboration with the broader team.
* Capable of prioritizing and delivering work in a fast-moving environment.
* Develop technical specifications and designs to meet project specific objectives.
* Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes.
* Resolve technical and design issues.
* Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects.
* Providing regular updates to the Project Manager including work progress, risks, and priorities.
About you
* Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or similar.
* A proven history in the mineral processing industry with practical experience working in other engineering companies or working on EPCM projects or studies on the owners' side.
* Ability to adjust to change quickly and adapt to new requirements.
* Experienced in mill, concentrator and/or metallurgical plant design – particularly for base and precious metals.
* Knowledge of engineering workflow process and working knowledge of industry process related software, codes and standards.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify underlying principles or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
* Operational experience at mines, mineral processing or metallurgical facilities, including managing operational performance and plant improvement projects - An advantage.
