ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Support the Marine team through the product certification process to interpret and comply with various global hydrogen and marine standards, including but not limited to, engine and hydrogen fuel storage and delivery system approvals.
2. Maintain up to date knowledge of industry standards and applicable rules, monitor legislative changes and assess their potential impact on dual-fuel engine and hydrogen system approvals.
3. Act as an interface for external parties (e.g. Classification Societies) to exchange testing and witnessing requirements and cascade requirements to the engineering and calibration teams.
4. Oversee multiple complex schedules, setting priorities for internal teams.
5. Advise Company management of the legislation/compliance project statuses on a regular basis.
6. Develop new project legislation approval, e.g. spearheading underdeck storage concepts, new engines, in-service inspection requirements, etc.
7. Coordinate the efforts of the engineering and production departments to ensure programs are conducted in accordance with the safety standard requirements.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate compliance requirements into the development process.
9. Coordinate prototype certification testing to qualify new designs/systems.
10. Ensure compliance to safety analysis including DFMEA, HAZID, HAZOP, HAT and SAT.
11. Supply ongoing training to the engineering teams, acting as a resource and mentor for technical guidance.
12. Independently anticipate potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are met.
13. Work professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximizing system safety, performance and customer satisfaction.
14. Perform all other duties as assigned.
YOUR PROFILE
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field of study.
2. Minimum of five years relevant engineering experience with minimum three (3) years of managerial experience in product certification or plan approval.
3. Experience in any of the following is highly valued: Classification society/Plan Approval, Hydrogen and/or fuel cells, Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.
4. Experience in advocacy and engagement with regulatory agencies is a plus.
5. Ability to travel occasionally, up to 20% of the time.
6. Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Outlook.
7. Exceptional organisational skills.
8. Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
9. Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
10. An eye for detail.
11. Must be driven and self-motivated with excellent follow through.
