Robertson Bell is delighted to be recruiting for a Finance Manager on a permanent basis for a well-regarded public sector organisation. This role offers the chance to oversee critical finance functions, manage a talented and supportive team, and contribute to a major system migration project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading and developing a highly capable finance team of eight, ensuring strong collaboration and effective teamwork.
2. Managing the month-end process and preparing management accounts packs for review from the Head of Finance.
3. Business partnering with key stakeholders across professional services areas, ensuring budget management and financial literacy are prioritised.
4. Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring correct accounting treatments, and completing public finance reporting requirements.
5. Supporting the ongoing migration to Unit 4 Agresso, ensuring effective oversight and coordination with consultants.
6. Contributing to financial statement preparation and ensuring adherence to governance and bureaucratic processes within the public finance framework.
Based in Dudley, this role requires the candidate to work in their offices five days per week and offers fantastic employee benefits including 25 days annual leave, seven days off for Christmas and bank holidays in addition to an employer pension contribution over 20%!
The Ideal Candidate Will:
1. Be a QBE, part-qualified, or fully qualified Accountant, with significant financial accounting experience.
2. Have a background in the public sector, which is highly desirable, or a willingness to join an organisation centred around governance and bureaucracy.
3. Have strong experience in month-end closures and statutory accounts preparation.
4. Have a proven track record of managing and developing a team, demonstrating confidence in decision-making and leadership.
