Summary of role The Resettlement Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of service delivery and contract management within the Resettlement Team, who provide supported accommodation to Looked After Children, Care Leavers and UAS young people. This role ensures compliance with all contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements. This includes Ofsted standards, safeguarding policies, and best practices for working with looked-after children. The post holder will be instrumental in service development, strategic planning, and oversee day to day operational management, ensuring that the needs of young people, are met in a trauma-informed and strength-based way. This role encompasses identifying gaps and improvements in service provision and working alongside senior management on strategic development of the service. The post holder will provide regular supervision to the staff team, promoting development and managing their workload. Maintaining positive relationships with external stakeholders, key statutory agencies, service users and the public ,whilst representing the wider organisation in a competent and professional manner, and maintaining the highest professional standards at all times. Key Accountabilities Ensure service delivery is fully compliant with Ofsted regulations and best practices in working with looked-after children. Develop, implement, monitor, and review policies, procedures, and quality standards to ensure compliance with external governance, safeguarding protocols, and youth justice legislation. Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including social services, local authorities, housing providers, and Ofsted inspectors, to ensure the highest standards of support and service provision. Oversee the assessment, planning, and review processes for young people, ensuring person centred resettlement support that promotes independence and positive outcomes. Manage referrals and allocations within the team, ensuring fair and transparent access in line with organisational policies and the needs of looked-after children. Supervise, support, and develop staff, ensuring continuous professional development and training, particularly in Ofsted compliance, safeguarding, and trauma-informed support. Ensure high-quality record-keeping, case management, and data monitoring in line with regulatory requirements, including internal and external reporting standards. Maintain compliance with housing law, health and safety legislation, and internal warning systems to ensure a safe and secure environment for young people. Lead on service improvement initiatives, identifying gaps in provision and implementing solutions to enhance outcomes for vulnerable young people, through effective team away days, team meetings and one to ones. Participate in recruitment, induction, and performance management processes to foster a highly skilled and motivated team. Oversee financial and operational efficiency, such as information for payroll, petty cash and adhering to allocated budgets and financial procedures. Represent the organisation professionally in multi-agency meetings and strategic partnerships. Other Duties The Resettlement Service manager will participate in Roundabouts out of hours on call provision and work alongside the SLT and management team as and when required. Person Specification Specific Knowledge, Experience & Skills Management experience in a youth justice, social care, or residential setting, particularly with looked-after children or a similar client group. Experience of negotiating and implementing support packages for vulnerable young people in collaboration with commissioners and social care provisions to best meet the needs of young people. Demonstrated ability to lead manage and develop a staff team within a contracted or regulated service. Experience of meeting contractual requirements and quality standards to achieve and maintain a high level of service delivery. Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures for children and vulnerable young people in social care and supported housing or similar setting. Experience of working within a multi-agency framework, including liaising with social workers, commissioners, and external partners. A working knowledge of with trauma-informed and strength-based approaches in supporting young people and ensuring these approaches are integral from referral to move on. A demonstrable understanding of assessing and managing risk, crisis management and solution focused management.
