Job summary We are seeking a consultant colleague with expertise in neonatology that could augment the currentprovision of services within the department. The successful applicant should have extensive experienceof neonatology evidenced by a certificate of neonatal subspecialty training, SPIN module in neonatologyor evidence of equivalent experience. The successful candidate is expected to provide a strong visible presence across the organisation, be arole model of good leadership and effective communication at individual, team, directorate andorganisation level. He/ she is expected to help shape the development of the department and to sharethe long term vision for a safe and sustainable service, in line with the current developments. Main duties of the job > Where specified, the Consultant is expected to provide continuity of care for all the patients comingthrough the neonatal service over their attending weeks. They provide support and are available forall neonatal emergencies during the specified time period. > The post holder is expected to take on and lead in a special interest to augment those alreadyprovided within the Department. > They are required to cover General Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Department when on callin the evening and over weekends, and should cover be required during normal working hours. >The Consultant would do at least two outpatient clinics per week during non-attending weeks to include neonatal follow-up clinics and general paediatric clinics as outlined below.
