Working with a large portfolio of public and private sector clients, our UK based organisation comprises several divisions including Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works and other associated trades.
Position:
The Service Manager is responsible for ensuring PPM, Reactive, Remedial work is completed and any subsequent work that comes from this work is scheduled and managed to close.
A critical part of this is to ensure you help create inspiring environments for your team to be successful. To build relationships with the client, through clear professional and regular communication on operational issues. To ensure BJF's reputation is held in high regard and is seen as the supply partner of choice.
Support the business in any technical advice required as part of the wider team, support any internal part of the business as required.
As the line manager to a team of engineers, you need to ensure they are given direction, motivated, mentored, trained/developed. As security is critical, you also need to monitor and ensure the engineers’ security clearance is in date to carry out their role.
Requirements:
Site Management
* Ensure the site's data is regularly updated on the client's CAFM systems.
* Ensure site estate meetings are attended as and when required.
* Update Admin regarding call out rota.
* Adhere to BJF Group and client’s contract requirements.
* Ensure engineers and suppliers working with you are SHEQ compliant.
Operations - PPM
* Plan and execute efficient delivery of all Planned Maintenance tasks to ensure both statutory and mandatory compliance.
* Manage the delivery of the planned maintenance programme.
* Ensure Supply Chain delivers contracted performance requirements, and all certification and documents are recorded and filed correctly.
* Ensure site is statutory compliant, providing BJF Group with assurance and identifying compliance failures and mitigating action and escalating where appropriate.
* Ensure the PPM works are completed by the 15th of the month they are scheduled in.
Operations – Reactive Works
* Work towards all remedial work being processed 3 days ahead of the calendar day you’re working in e.g. work due on the 7th of the month being complete by the 4th of the same month.
* Monitor and update clients CAFM system.
* Provide management information to Line Manager and Support Manager on reported tasks and performance.
* Provide cost information to Line Management to progress chargeable works.
* Ensure all callouts are attended to, in conjunction with the escalation procedure for both in and out of normal working hours.
Employee Management
Our Engineers are at the heart of our ability to deliver a great service; this role requires the skill to create environments for the engineers to be successful, motivated and efficient.
* Liaison with senior managers and HR to ensure all HR procedures are followed.
* Manage, review and report on absence, disputes grievances, sickness, in line with company procedures.
* Identify causes for concern and escalate to line management where appropriate.
* Carry out annual appraisals of all engineers/technicians within your team.
Stakeholder Management
The Service Manager is a key part of the management relationship between BJF and the client. This role must ensure there are regular meetings with the client with the output to ensure they have a close and constructive working relationship where both parties are working closely towards the same goal.
* Provide formal reports to BJF Management and the client as and when required.
* Attend formal meetings with the BJF Management and the client as and when required.
* Provide ad hoc estate information for BJF Management and the client.
* Act as point of contact to receive and action BJF Group, client external/internal Audit Teams feedback.
Financial and Commercial Management
Understand the role that finance and commercial operate within the contract, with requirements in the relevant contract modules.
* Ensure adherence to BJF Group commercial processes and governance.
* Ensure adherence to the BJF Group Procurement Strategy and associated policies.
* Take ownership and responsibility in conjunction with the finance team and ensure effective cost control on site.
* Ensure that site level data is kept up to date and assistance is provided to resolve any and all financial and commercial issues on a timely basis.
* Ensure that all works and activities undertaken by both the Delivery team and Supply Chain are provided to the required standard and in accordance with BJF Group and the client’s policy and procedures.
SHEQ
* Ensure BJF Group and the client’s SSOW, H&S policy and procedures are in place and followed.
* Promote a positive proactive H&S culture across the whole team.
* Ensure accident prevention programme/process is in place.
* Ensure arrangements are in place to protect the health, safety and welfare of all those who visit or use facilities under our control.
* Ensure attendance at client Site Safety meetings and ensure they are recorded and communicated to all staff where required.
