Senior Actuarial Analyst (Pricing - Retirement, Individual Annuity & lifetime mortgages)

Job Purpose
To own the end-to-end pricing systems and processes for Individual Annuities and Equity Release Mortgages (ERMs). Ensure appropriate controls and monitoring of pricing are in place and drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the pricing systems. Work with the Annuity and ERM Pricing Managers to allow the Retirement Pricing team to optimise pricing in our chosen markets.
Provide additional support to input and review the work of the wider pricing team. Implement product developments into pricing systems and processes to support the wider product development agenda.
Key Accountabilities
1. Maintain the pricing systems and processes used by the Retirement Pricing team to ensure the teams can re-price products in line with their delegated authorities.
2. Drive continuous improvements in the pricing systems and processes in terms of speed, efficiency, accuracy, and granularity of the pricing systems.
3. Provide support to input into and review the work of the wider pricing team, across both individual annuities and equity release.
4. Ensure pricing systems and processes are updated by the relevant teams in line with product development changes.
5. Help to develop the skills and capabilities of the wider pricing team.
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills
* Excellent knowledge of software packages used within Insurance pricing e.g. standard Microsoft packages and coding languages such as R and Python.
* Sound understanding of actuarial principles in terms of pricing and valuation.
* Ability to apply actuarial/pricing techniques to business problems.
* Knowledge of UK Individual Annuity and Equity Release Mortgage markets.
* Analysing and reasoning skills, to reach sound and defensible conclusions / recommendations based on data but being pragmatic as situation and needs dictate.
* Understanding and ability to implement/maintain a robust control framework.
* Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
