About the Team
Warwickshire Music is the principal provider of Music Education Services in Warwickshire. Our large team of 90+ teachers provide lessons and musical opportunities to over 11,000 children & young people in schools, academies, and Area Music Centres each week across the county.
Warwickshire Music is a multi-million pound fully traded Education Service within Warwickshire County Council. It forms part of the council’s Education Services group that includes Adult & Community Learning, Attendance, and Post 16 Services.
Warwickshire Music, along with Coventry & Solihull Music Services is one of the three collaborative lead organisations for the new Heart of England Music Hub.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic business and finance professional to join our Senior Leadership Team. The role holds responsibility for all business and resource management functions within the service with a £2.5M budget.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
* The day-to-day financial and business management of Warwickshire Music and support for the development of the overall financial strategy for the Service.
* The management of Service delivery contracts, teacher payroll and timetabling functions in collaboration with our Area Leaders.
* Oversight and effective management of the instrumental and equipment stock inventory to ensure efficient and robust systems for stock management and audit are in place.
* Ensuring that all business systems and processes, data capture and reporting functions are efficient to effectively support and promote the delivery of services and opportunities to schools, children & families.
* All matters of Health & Safety and Safer Recruitment processes for the service.
Our team is based in Warwick. The role allows for some hybrid working around business need each week.
Key Requirements
This is an important role within Warwickshire Music and will form part of our collegiate approach to senior leadership within the Service. The role line manages our Business & Resources Team comprising of 6 colleagues.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
* A proven track record of successful business and finance management in a trading public sector or commercial business setting.
* Proven experience of successful budget management and delivery of efficiency savings.
* Successful experience of data analysis and reporting to inform operational planning and management.
* A proven track record of developing and implementing effective business processes to build operational capacity.
* Experience of successful team management and development.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety at work and Safer Recruitment requirements.
