Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to clients and service users in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for all, treating our clients with dignity, respect, and equality. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional intelligence to create a nurturing environment for those under your care. We are looking for all carers and can offer flexible negotiable hours. Carer Drivers are especially welcome.
Duties
1. Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
2. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
3. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
4. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as necessary, ensuring their safety at all times.
5. Implement behaviour management strategies when required, particularly for clients with specific needs.
6. Assist with childcare duties when applicable, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for children.
7. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to relevant healthcare professionals.
8. Collaborate with managing staff and senior staff to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
9. Provide hospice care as needed, offering comfort and support to clients and their families during difficult times.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in home care, senior care, or childcare is highly desirable.
2. Knowledge of medication administration practices is essential.
3. Familiarity with behaviour management techniques is an advantage.
4. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
5. Experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is beneficial but not mandatory.
6. A caring attitude, patience, and excellent communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
7. Relevant certifications in caregiving or health-related fields will be considered an asset.
8. Relevant references, legal checks, and interviews are required under law.
