Description
What Success Looks Like In This Job: Performs public health response planning work in the planning, design, and implementation of public health preparedness and response activities and programs.
Examples of Duties for Success
1. Evaluating plans, procedures, protocols, and agreements through the development and implementation of exercises.
2. Developing and facilitating planning groups to complete plans related to mass dispensing, medical surge, and logistics.
3. Assisting in the development of a comprehensive training and exercise plan.
4. Tracking participation in training and exercise activities.
5. Developing training curricula and delivering the trainings.
6. Operating in command and general staff positions during responses to real-world incidents.
7. Collaborating with and representing ACHD as a technical consultant.
8. Assisting in the identification and management of emergency preparedness equipment and supplies.
9. May be responsible for staffing the Emergency Support Function #8 (ESF8) position.
10. Serves as a liaison to other response partners to ensure public health needs are met.
Qualifications for Success
1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public health, management, emergency preparedness, or a related field.
2. 4 years of experience working in a local public health department emergency preparedness program.
3. A master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience.
4. Valid driver's license and access to dependable transportation.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and project management software.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is primarily conducted indoors with occasional time spent outdoors. Requires travel between Adams County offices and may require working outside regular hours.
