This is a great opportunity for a Housing Management Worker to join our team here in Transitional Housing, Durham Mental Wellbeing Alliance. As our Housing specialist, you’ll support our customers, ensuring their homes are safe and well maintained. Providing a housing management service, you’ll support them to manage and maintain their tenancy with the aim of helping them move on to a secure, long-term accommodation!
Typical day as a Housing Management Worker
* Working with customers who have mental health support needs to develop their skills with the aim to be able to manage a tenancy independently and support in place for their social, health and wellbeing.
* Making sure that our customers properties are homes they can be proud of, you’ll support your customers by engaging and involving them in their tenancies.
* Help our customers with any benefit claims, setting up and maintaining all aspects of financial management
* To support the next customers who needs our help and for maximum occupancy, you’ll turn around vacant or void properties within set timescales. This will involve picking up a broom or paint brush!
* You’ll carry out and record the routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities making sure we’re compliant.
* You’ll also manage the admin updating records, ordering, and arranging payment for works to be done

You bring
* A background in property management, but that’s not a deal breaker! Perhaps you’ve worked in an environment with compliance and health and safety checks?
* A “can do” positive attitude, you’re proactive and well organised, and able to work on your initiative.
* A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help your customers.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
* Confidence working collaboratively with colleagues in other parts of the business as well as with external partners
* Passion for property and get a thrill out of knowing that your properties are the best they can be for our customers!

You’ll join Rosie and our Transitional Housing team, we’re super passionate about what we do! We’re really proud of the service we provide and have seen some amazing move on’s for our customers who are ready to have their own tenancies without support. We’re a supportive bunch to work with!
Job details
* Working 37.5 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 9-5pm
* Based at our service in Co Durham you’ll spend your time travelling around the properties across the whole of the area
* Able to use technology for creating and updating support plans, making benefit claims and doing tenancy signs ups,
* To get from A to B, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
