NURSERY CHEF, Kings Norton

Role: Nursery Chef
Location: Shooting Stars Nursery Kings Norton, Barbara Hart House, 132 Monyhull Road, Birmingham, B30 3QJ
Hours: 30-40 hours a week over 5 days, between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday. The nursery is open Monday to Friday, between 7.30am to 6pm all year round except bank holidays.
Responsibilities:
1. Cook in charge experience, menu planning, costing, purchasing and safe food storage.
2. Experience in preparing and serving food for people with allergies and special dietary requirements.
3. Experience catering for children under 5 years old and/or working in a kitchen based in a nursery, school, nursing home or hospital.
4. Supervisory experience.
Qualifications:
Essential: Level 2 or above food hygiene certificate.
Desirable: Level 3 food hygiene, food allergy awareness, knowledge of working with safer food better business practises or a catering/hospitality qualification.
Additional Skills:
1. Knowledgeable about children's allergies and dietary requirements and willing to make every child feel valued and included.
2. A confident multitasker ensuring we have fresh produce delivered weekly resulting in nutritious meals for a variety of dietary requirements.
3. Love arriving at the end of a day and knowing that you made a difference.
