Job Description
Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Field Service Generator Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Depot Foreman by handling the depot's day-to-day engineering needs. While the position is predominantly field-based, you will also assist with yard-based tasks as required by the business. What our client offers:
* Salary: £43,000 based on a 48 hour working week + earnings of £60k+ with overtime
* 25 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays
* Company-provided service vehicle & fuel - This includes personal miles and door to door pay.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform servicing and maintenance on generators on-site and within the depot
* Genset synchronization tasks
* Diagnose faults in control panels, AC/DC electrical systems, and other components
* Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota, including Bank Holidays
* Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs
* Communicate directly with customers, ensuring excellent service levels
* Ensure daily vehicle roadworthiness by completing defects reports
* Strictly adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
* Maintain accurate service records, including service sheets, PDI sheets, and other documentation
Desired Skills and Experience:
* We’re looking for a highly organised individual who possesses the following:
* Previous experience in the generator or plant hire industry
* NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering
* Strong ability to manage workloads and meet weekly service schedules
* A full UK driving licence.
* Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills.
* A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
* A forklift licence is preferred (training can be provided if needed)
