About the role:
To join a fast-growing business working with blue chip customers from the Payment, Financial services and Gambling sectors who rely on your Company’s products as vital tools to stay compliant in ever changing markets. The role is a full-time position reporting to our Management Accountant. It would suit a Graduate with plans to build a career in accountancy and study ACCA or similar, which the Company would provide support for. The role will develop and grow and so very much suits an applicant who is keen to learn and work hard as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process purchase invoices with the ability to liaise with suppliers to resolve any issues
2. Raise and post sales invoices in the CRM (Salesforce) and finance package (currently Sage 50)
3. Build relationships with clients and assist on initial credit control, reminding on overdue debt for payment by phone and email before flagging issues up to the Management Accountant and Finance Manager
4. Credit card & staff expenses processing and reconciliations, posting to Sage and ensuring ready for payment
5. Daily bank reconciliations including foreign accounts
6. Producing the weekly payment run report and entering payments on the bank
7. Providing assistance with month end procedures to the Management Accountant
8. Assisting with any procurement or customer processes and on-boarding
9. General administration: ad-hoc duties and tasks as required
10. Short term Cashflow forecasting
11. Support of transition from SAGE 50 to a new, cloud-based, finance system that will automate many currently manual tasks and free up time for more analytical and control-based work
What you'll need:
1. Previous experience in an accountancy role is essential and in order to perform the job effectively and grow in this role the chosen candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:
2. Strong computer skills, most notably Excel which will be used extensively in your work.
3. Experience with Sage 50 is beneficial but not essential, as would be G suite (Google Workplace) and Salesforce CRM, but key is ability to thrive across these systems with support and teaching provided
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. The role will naturally involve much interaction with colleagues of different levels and departments, customers and suppliers
5. Being able to develop rapport and also discuss sensitive and/or confidential subjects is a key part of the role
6. First-rate numeracy skills, notably in accuracy and attention to detail, are essential for reconciliations and general day to day accountancy
7. Ability to show initiative and eagerness to learn and grow in this role, while working closely with your seniors keeping them informed
8. High level of enthusiasm and a desire to enjoy and thrive in your work and team
9. Ability to work under pressure
