Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the instrumentation lead engineer on delivering work packages for Hinkley Point C, including participating in kick-off meetings and delivering documentation;
* Oversee piping & support design (clamp, beams, anchor plate...) and model them in the 3D model;
* Prepare CAD tasks for designers in Tracker (until transition to We-CAD) and follow up on completion;
* Participate in and lead troubleshooting investigations for emergent design issues;
* Ensure proper application of engineering procedures by designers and overall consistency of piping and support design;
* Interface with other departments to facilitate issue closure;
* Maintain high-quality designs in the PDMS model;
* Ensure designs are mature and can be handed over to clients, meeting project requirements;
* Propose technical solutions to issues found in the generic design concept;
* Facilitate communication between stakeholders (calculation team, layout, equipment).
Background and Required Skills:
* Experience with EPR-E Piping delivery processes;
* Mechanical Engineering degree or suitable diploma;
* Knowledge of piping engineering and plant design principles commensurate with grade;
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
* Proactive and self-motivated in completing tasks;
* High organizational competency with ability to deliver in a busy design office and work as part of a team;
* Knowledge of Aveva PDMS/E3D or experience with similar plant design packages.
Additional Information:
This is a permanent contract position only.
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Bristol-based role with access to nuclear training courses and specific training opportunities.
