We are looking for a Receptionist to join our dynamic and friendly team at our Edgware practice. This is a part-time role.
You will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors, as well as carrying out general office tasks.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the practice and work with our established processes, policies, and procedures to provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
You will receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.
About Us
Our team consists of a single-handed practice and 4 locum GPs, along with one practice nurse. We have a list size of 4,200 patients and continually develop all our team. If you are looking for part-time work in an exciting reception role, this could be the perfect position for you.
Job Responsibilities
1. Arrange appointments either face to face or via the telephone.
2. Support the clinical team working in the practice.
3. Be the first point of contact for patients.
4. Deal with patient enquiries both by telephone and face to face.
5. Provide patients/pharmacists with repeat prescriptions.
6. Monitor duty appointments and assist doctors.
7. Enter details onto the patient computer medical records.
8. Produce summary printouts and printed documentation as required by community staff, secondary care, and the patient.
9. Generate repeat prescriptions.
10. Register temporary and regular patients onto the computer system.
11. Lock doors and set security alarms where relevant.
12. Comply with Data Protection and smartcard security.
13. Ensure confidentiality at all times.
14. Maintain infection control, ensuring reception is compliant.
15. Familiarise yourself with the practice's policies and procedures.
16. Carry out any reasonable request by doctors and managers.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Grade A to C or equivalent in English.
* Experience of working in a GP surgery is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
* Knowledge of EMIS Web is preferred; however, training can be provided.
