Applications are warmly invited for a full-time fixed-term fellowship attached to the Glaucoma service commencing on 6th August, 2025.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform cataract surgery, specifically phacoemulsification surgery, unsupervised.
2. Manage glaucoma cases effectively.
3. Participate in the workload of the department as needed.
4. Work in complex clinics with supervision and collaborate with an experienced specialty optometry team.
5. Utilize dedicated theatre time under supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Extensive cataract surgical experience.
2. Experience managing glaucoma cases.
3. At Specialist Registrar/Trainee grade or equivalent.
4. Completion of higher surgical training in ophthalmology or nearing completion.
5. Registration with the General Medical Council with a License to Practice.
The BEH is a highly regarded Regional Centre for Ophthalmology which sits within the Division of Surgery at UHBW (recently rated Good by the CQC). UHBW is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country, serving a core population of more than 500,000 people across South West England.
