We are offering a part-time, 15 hours opportunity supporting patients to manage their persistent pain as part of our multi-disciplinary Team.
You will work alongside all members of the Pain Service including Physiotherapists, Nurses, Psychologists and Pain Consultants.

We are actively engaged in research, leading in trials with Oxford University and the NIHR. We also have close multi-disciplinary working with other services in the acute trust and with the MSK Advanced Practitioner Service.
Main duties of the job
1. To assist in providing an outpatient self-management service for patients with persistent/chronic pain.
2. To manage a caseload of persistent/chronic pain patients with the support of the Band 7 clinical specialist physiotherapist/nurse and Psychologist Clinical Lead for the Pain Self-Management Service.
3. To have an understanding of basic skills in the delivery of interventions to facilitate behaviour change eg CBT, mindfulness, ACT and motivational interviewing.
4. To provide quality care and maintain/deliver high standards in accordance with UK law, the CSP/HCPC, Trust and EU guidelines.
5. To work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
6. To act as an autonomous practitioner in Pain Self-Management within The Trust, providing a local link to the wider networks for pain management services.
7. To organise own time effectively.
8. To be familiar with suicide risk policies and procedures.
9. To liaise with mental health teams where appropriate such as the Crisis Team.
10. To demonstrate good IT skills, such as Word, Excel.

The post holder is supervised by a named clinician, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision is in the form of regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review and formal training.
The post holder will link with the Band 7 clinical lead therapists to support the use of resources within budget.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Degree/ diploma in Physiotherapy
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Experience of working within the NHS in the UK.
* Experience of supervising, appraising and providing education/training to others.
* Deliver a high level of skill in the assessment and management of complex patients.
* Demonstrate excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written when interacting with patients/carers, other team members, clients and other professionals.
* Work flexibly in response to the changing demands of the service and manage changes in service delivery in self and others.
* Work effectively as a team member within the multidisciplinary team.
* Knowledge of and ability to apply and utilise evidence-based practice, including National guidelines to deliver, evaluate and audit the service.
* Demonstrate the ability to network with other professionals and set up close working relations.
* Have an understanding of the principles underpinning the roles of other staff members within the team, including psychology, nursing, physiotherapy and medicine in order to contribute to the development of an integrated therapy service.
Desirable
* Non-medical prescribing is desirable not essential.
