Then we want to hear from you The Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team is one of five sub-sectors within our Water Consultancy Division, which employs around 600 people across the UK. We work in the water sector and with other infrastructure providers both in the UK and internationally in the following areas: Water resource investment planning Wastewater and bioresources investment planning Strategic asset management and business planning Technical assurance of operational performance and business cases Carbon and net zero appraisal and strategic planning Integrated systems management Data analytics and decision support tools Contract's appraisal (NEC, PPP) Our clients are facing significant challenges from climate change, population growth and ageing assets. Their customers expect increasing service levels and less impact on the environment at lower cost. Asset management is key to overcoming these challenges and therefore we are growing our team in this area. We are looking for motivated professionals, with at least 5 years of asset management experience preferably in the water sector, to join our team based in the UK. The ideal candidate will have a desire for a long-term career in asset management, becoming a Member of the Institute of Asset Management and managing their own projects. Typical duties and responsibilities may include: Supporting or leading the delivery of asset management advisory projects Writing business cases for clients Supporting asset management capability assessments and identifying areas for improvement Drafting proposals Data analysis to support project delivery Writing client reports Project and budget management Mentoring junior members of the team Candidate specification You will have experience in at least two of the following: Asset planning or asset strategy such as the preparation of business plans Risk assessment and management Investment appraisal or cost benefit analysis Investment planning or investment programme optimisation Resilience assessment and planning Developing decision support tools Performance monitoring/reporting Some experience/knowledge of ISO 55000 or another ISO standard Required skills and experience: Degree qualified Industry experience in asset management ideally in a water company or consultancy Critical thinking Proficient writing skills Analytical skills Proficiency in relevant software tools Attention to detail Some project management, client liaison and consulting skills Willingness to undertake assignments throughout the UK, as well as short international visits Desired skills and experience: Certificate or Diploma in Asset Management from the Institute of Asset Management Assurance/audit experience including experience of ISO auditing. Commercial awareness and bid preparation.
