Aareon UK are seeking a qualified Project Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this will be a key role in assisting in building and optimising processes in order to provide accurate and timely financial reporting, analysis and strategic insights to support business decision-making.
This position will involve taking the lead on several finance projects to ensure smooth running of the finance department. Projects will include reviewing current processes for accuracy and timeliness, the migration of finance systems to SAP and oversee the integration of any acquired companies into the group processes.
The Role:
Process Improvement:
1. Review, analyse, and optimise current accounting and financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
2. Identify areas of opportunity for process improvements, propose solutions, and assist with the implementation of best practices.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting workflows and ensure alignment with company-wide goals.
Integration of Acquired Companies:
1. Assist in the integration of newly acquired companies into the group's financial reporting processes.
2. Manage the alignment of accounting practices, systems, and reporting structures for acquired companies to ensure consistency with group standards.
3. Collaborate with finance teams of acquired companies to ensure smooth transition and adherence to group financial policies.
Financial Reporting:
1. Prepare and consolidate financial reports for management review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
2. Assist in the preparation of group financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
3. Provide support during audits and ensure financial records are in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
Ad Hoc Projects:
1. Assist with special accounting projects, including system upgrades, process redesigns, or other initiatives as assigned by senior leadership.
2. Provide accounting support and analytical insights for various business units or departments on an as-needed basis.
3. Collaborate with internal teams to support mergers, acquisitions, and any corporate restructuring efforts.
Requirements:

Technical Skills:
1. Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
2. Strong knowledge of project accounting principles, budgeting, and cost control.
3. Proficient in accounting software (SAP experience desired) and Microsoft Excel (advanced skills).
Salary:
* £45,000 to £48,000 per annum (depending on experience) + fantastic Bupa Benefits.
