Role Description
The Territory Sales Manager (Aggregates) is responsible for driving sales growth within Yorkshire by developing and maintaining relationships with customers in the construction, infrastructure, and building materials sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of aggregates (such as sand, gravel, crushed stone) and their applications in various industries. The ideal candidate will be skilled in business development, account management, and strategic sales planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development:
1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
2. Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
3. Provide pricing, quotations, and contract negotiation support to secure long-term partnerships.
4. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders with an emphasis on Tier 1 contractors, Local Authorities, and Ground workers.
2. Conduct site visits, customer meetings, and presentations to promote product solutions.
3. Address customer inquiries, resolve complaints, and ensure timely delivery of products.
3. Operational Coordination:
1. Collaborate with operations, logistics, and production teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and on-time deliveries.
2. Work closely with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and product awareness strategies.
3. Provide sales forecasts, market intelligence, and performance reports to management.
4. Compliance & Safety:
1. Ensure all sales activities align with company policies, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
2. Educate customers on product specifications, sustainability initiatives, and compliance standards.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Education & Experience:
1. 3+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the construction materials or aggregates industry.
2. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
2. Technical & Soft Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of aggregates, construction materials, and industry applications.
2. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to analyse market trends and develop competitive sales strategies.
4. Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
5. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently.
Work Conditions & Travel:
1. Frequent travel within the assigned territory to visit customers and job sites.
2. Hybrid work environment, with a mix of office and field-based activities.
3. Must have a valid driver’s license.
